The advancement of technology in education has enabled students all over the world to pursue their preferred education, regardless of where they live. Another occasion when educational technology came in handy was when we needed to find a replacement for traditional classroom instruction. Since the beginning of the school year, 2020 students have been glued to their laptop screens and other digital devices. The shift from the traditional classroom to online education is truly transformative. What do online classes mean to teachers and students? In India, online education is still a relatively new concept.
Every day, an increasing number of students enrol in online classes. To deliver classes, schools, colleges, and other educational institutions have turned to online learning. Both teachers and students found the transition from traditional to online classes difficult. Online learning is very different from classroom learning.
Through our website, we solicited feedback from a diverse group of students enrolled in online classes. Students were asked to share their thoughts on what they enjoy about online learning and what improvements they would like to see in the online classes they take at e-Tuitions, their school classes, universities, or other online class platforms like ours. This section will go over what online classes can offer students.
1. An enjoyable online class experience
Doesn't it appear to be so simple? Only a teacher, however, understands the complexities involved. However, this is simply what students are looking for. It may appear that running an online live class is simple, and it is. Teachers should strive to deliver lessons in which students understand everything they learn and enjoy coming to class. The online tutor and the individual student or group being taught decide on this goal.
2. Keep up the pace
We always advise teachers taking online classes in private or group settings to be aware of their student's learning pace. Some students take the initiative to prepare for class, while others wait for the topic to be taught in class before studying it on their own. Each student is unique and learns at his or her own pace, which online teachers must understand. Some students learn by asking practice questions, whereas others expect the teacher to walk them through a textbook exercise. Teachers must understand this for the sake of their students.
3. Interaction in the classroom
PowerPoint presentations have grown in popularity in online classes. PowerPoint presentations have long been used in offline classes. They are, in fact, fantastic teaching tools. Presentations provide students with the information they require. They also help teachers prepare for each lecture. It is not a good idea, however, to simply display it on the students' screens and expect them to understand everything on their own. Many of our students appreciate teachers who use presentations or other materials to explain concepts while also demonstrating them.
4. Discussions
Students enjoy the discussions that occur during lessons. It allows them to communicate and understand. When held at regular intervals, discussions allow students to participate. Encouraging students to discuss issues can also be a good way to obtain feedback from them. Online tutors can learn what their students understand and where they need more clarification.
5. Examinations and quizzes
For students, quizzes are both enjoyable and necessary. It is beneficial academically because it tests students' knowledge. A quiz can also assist in increasing student engagement. As a result, if a teacher occasionally pulls up a fun quiz, it will assist him/her in assessing the students. It will also help the teacher wake up the sleepyheads. We are certain that all of the students will concur with us!
6. Work with your colleagues
Working with other students is always enjoyable. When students, whether in school or college, are assigned to work together, they are always ecstatic. As a result, one method of teaching students to work in groups is to group them and assign them small projects to work on. A task can be assigned to each member of a group for which he or she is responsible. After participating in such activities, students' learning improves dramatically. Coding teachers and science teachers on various online education websites always assign students a group project.
